Pajaro Valley Unified School District Curriculum Mapping Algebra 1


This project began in the 2009-2010 school year and is still in progress.  Math teachers representing every grade and subject level are working to complete the tasks listed below.  I participate on the team Assigned to Algebra 1 content standards.
  • Unpack the standards to develop a common wording of complexly written standards.

  • Identify new and prior learning in each standard.

  • Create pacing guides that align to texts used in each school.

  • Create a pacing calendar to guide instruction that is based on content which must be covered prior to annual standardized testing.

  • Create benchmark assessments to gather performance data at the end of each quarter.
